Universal Television is conducting a worldwide talent search for three lead and supporting roles in the upcoming Netflix series Untitled Kaling/Fisher project. Untitled Kaling/Fisher is a 10 episode limited series created by Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project, The Office) and Lang Fisher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, 30 Rock) about the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl. The series is inspired by Mindy Kaling’s childhood.
Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher are serving as writers, showrunners, and executive producers, along with Howard Kline and David Milner of 3 Arts Entertainment (The Office, Parks and Recreation).
Casting is seeking three female South Asian actors to play Devi (15-18), Kamala (mid 20s), and Nalini (40s). 15-year-old Devi, whose parents emigrated here from India, wants nothing more than to be a “normal” American teenager, and she’s not going to let anything stop her.
The deadline to submit is 6pm PST on April 30th.
